Box Score Farmington, MAINE - Colby Baseball traveled to the University of Maine Farmington on Tuesday, April 12th at 4:00 PM. Before this, the team had lost their last two to Middlebury and were clearly playing with a purpose in this one. The Mules won the game 25-3, playing only eight innings. Adam Hoechstet got the win, allowing only one hit in two innings pitched. He also allowed no runs.
Charlie Jodka,
Zack Lurie, and
Howell Eglin pitched the remaining six innings. Jodka allowed two runs on four hits in three innings. Eglin, similar to Hoechstet, allowed zero runs, but two hits in two innings of pitching. Colby definitely won the pitching matchup, as all Farmington pitchers were knocked right out of the game, none of them lasting longer than two and two thirds innings pitched.
The Mules were simply too much to handle at the plate, scoring three in the first, four in the second, six in the third, two in the fourth, seven in the fifth, and three in the eighth.
Cole Palmeri,
Drew Miller,
Ethan Hillenberg, Clint Flipo, Patrick McConnel,
Charlie Furlong, and
Genki LeClair all tied for the team lead in hits with two. As seen by half the team tying for the lead in hits, the Mules were hot and could not be cooled.
The Mules play next Wednesday, April 13th, at home against the University of Southern Maine.
