Waterville, Maine- The Men's Ice Hockey Program played against the Bantams of Trinity College in the NESCAC Championship game this Sunday afternoon at the Jack Kelley Rink on the campus of Colby College. The Mules as the No. 1 seed were looking to finish off a historic season with a win against No. 2 Trinity College. Despite the hard-fought effort, the Bantams eventually coming away with a 4-1 over the Mules.

Trinity found the scoreboard first against the Mules, scoring just over three minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Bantams put a lot of pressure on the Mules, outshooting them 13-8 in the first period. While the Mules had some solid chances, they would not be able to score in the first period.

In the second period, Trinity extended their lead to two just thirteen seconds into the period. Despite being down by two, Colby generated multiple offensive opportunities that were just shy of making it into the net. Colby outshooting Trinity this period 14-12.

Going into the final period the Mules would start on the penalty kill. Trinity took advantage of this opportunity scoring thirty-three seconds into the period to take the 3-0 lead over the Mules. Play was even this period, both teams blocking multiple shots and generating strong offensive opportunities. Sophomore
Jack Sullivan put the Mules on the scoreboard after receiving a feed from
Max O'Brien to bring the score within two with under three and a half minutes to play. A penalty taken by Trinity College with over two minutes to play looked to set the Mules up for a comeback, but Trinity took advantage of the Mules' empty net, scoring to make the final score 4-1.

Carter Breitenfeldt would lead the Mules with four shots each in the game.
