Clinton, NEW YORK- Colby Men's Basketball matched up against Hamilton yesterday, February fifth, at 7:00 PM. Before this game, the Mules had their last four, two of which were against conference rivals Bates and Bowdoin. The game was one of the lowest scoring of Colby's season, ending in a 66-54 loss.
The Mules simply didn't have enough tonight, shooting 17-50 and 5-19 from three. They were out rebounded by Hamilton 37 to 31, out assisted 15 to eight, out blocked 12 to zero, and tied for steals with seven.
Matt Hanna had the best game for Colby Basketball, leading the team in both points and assists.
Hanna ended the night with 11 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Hanna always does a great job for the Mules, and is a great leader. Unfortunately, it was just one of those nights and the rest of the team wasn't able to come out of its game long shooting slump to support him.
Kyle Butler also had a solid game, scoring seven points on four shots, passing for one assist, and snagging one steal.
Noah Tyson led the team in rebounds with seven and scores seven points of his own.
The Mules scored exactly 27 points in both halves, while Hamilton finished with 35 in the first and 31 in the second, showing that the game was always in Hamilton's hands. After four straight wins, a disappointing loss like this is nothing to be worried about, and Colby will simply look to bounce back today, February fifth, when they play Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusets at 5:00 PM.
