Medford, Mass. - The Colby College Volleyball team loses to NESCAC opponent Tufts University (9-3, 4-1 NESCAC) in a five set heartbreaker (25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 21-25, 8-15). This sets the Mules back to 3-3 in conference play and 8-4 on the season.
Colby came out strong and set the tone taking the first two sets but the Jumbo's of Tufts stood their ground by winning the final three. Some highlights on the night for Colby included a team total of seven aces compared to the Tufts three.
Emma Davis played well attacking the net leading the team in kills at 17, followed by
Natalie Bumpus with 12 and
Hannah Wyllie with 10.
Sydney Sick dished out 37 assists and combined with
Bella Schumacher for 41 digs.
The Mules will have no time to look over this tough loss as they will battle both WPI and Gordon College in Wenham, Mass. tomorrow afternoon.
