Men's Soccer Falls to Bates in Season Finale

Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Men's Soccer team faced the Bates College Bobcats at home in an attempt to secure a spot in the NESCAC playoffs. The Mules fell 1-0 ending the season at 4-5-7 overall and 1-5-5 in NESCAC play.

The first half of the game saw energetic plays by both teams with six shot attempts by the Mules and three shot attempts by the Bobcats. Going into the second half, a loss by Connecticut College to Wesleyan University meant that a win by Colby would give them the 8th seed and therefore a spot in the NESCAC Championship Quarterfinals. The game was scoreless going into the second half where the Bobcats were able to score a goal with 15 minutes remaining. The Mules played aggressively with two shots by Ethan Fabricant and seven shots in the second half alone, along with forcing six corner shots in each half. Colby was ultimately unable to score the two goals needed to advance ending a great season.
