Brunswick, Maine - The Mules faced off against the Bowdoin Polar Bear for a weekday NESCAC clash. The strong Bowdoin squad was pushed to their limits by the scrappy Mules in a game that was deadlocked for the majority of the game.
The first half was a tough battle between both teams. The Mules put four shots on goal to Bowdoins three. Both teams had opportunities to take the lead but the even score was evident of the close game.
The second half started with much of the same until Bowdoin found the back of the net in the 64th minute. Colby was unable to respond and the game finished 1-0. A frustrating result for a game that could have easily gone the Mules way.
Jane Maguire and
Kaleigh Quinn lead the Mules attack with two shots a piece.
Selah Barrett,
Sophie Webb and
Jackie Portogallo also managed a shot each.
The Mules will hope to get the offense going when they host the University of Maine Fort Kent on Saturday afternoon. The Mules are undefeated (4-0) in non-conference play and will look to finish non-conference play with another win. They will then turn their attention to a game against rivals Bates on Tuesday afternoon.
