Williamstown, Massachusetts- The Mules Men's Hockey team travelled down to Williams College to play the Ephs in a NESCAC matchup this past Friday night. The Mules were looking to improve to 8-3 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

The Ephs got out to a strong start against the Mules, getting several offensive chances before putting one behind sophomore goaltender
Andy Beran to put the Mules in a 1-0 deficit barely five minutes into the game. Sophomore
Jack Sullivan found the back of the net with a helper from first-year
Connor Blanchard to tie the game a goal apiece with just under seven minutes to play in the period.

In the second period the Mules would trade off offensive chances for the majority of the twenty minutes, being outshot 12-11 by the Ephs. The Mules would face their biggest challenge of the night when both
Jack Sullivan and
Abdoul Diouf would be called for penalties 16:31 into the period, leaving the Mules to fight a 5-on-3 for two minutes. Beran would make four saves during this penalty kill to keep the game tied.

During the third period, the Mules were once again outshot by the Ephs, but senior
Michael Morrissey would find the back of the net on the power play just under two minutes into the period,
Jack Sullivan and
John McElaney would tally assists to put the Mules up 2-1. Beran would keep the lead for the Mules, making a total of 11 saves, many of which coming in the second half of the period. The Mules would take the win against the Ephs, improving to 6-2 in conference play, and splitting the season series with Williams for the season.

The Mules next play tomorrow, January 22, at 4:00 PM against Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont.
