Waterville, MAINE - On January 12th, 2022 the Colby Mules took on visiting team Amherst College. Both the women's and the men's team fought until the very end, but ultimately fell to the Mammoths with a 0-9 score for the women, and 2-7 for the men.
With the women being down their #1 seat, it was evident that this match was going to be tough, but overall there were some games that showed grit and perseverance. One highlight includes #5 seat Juliette Love who pulled out a strong lead in her first and third game, but unfortunately had just fell short with a score of (6-11, 2-11, 6-11). Another highlight includes #4 seat Sabrina Teope who played strategically in her third game, but also had just fell short with a score of (2-11, 3-11, 7-11).
On the men's side, a highlight includes #1 seat
Jonathan Sosa Uranga who was down 0-2 in games, but quickly turned it around it in the third, and successfully pulled out the first win of the day for the Colby Mules (11-13, 6-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-7). The second win of the day was #5 seat
Ryan Santoro who kept his focus and composure to beat out his opponent with a score of (11-6, 3-11, 11-6, 11-7). With the men being down a couple of players, overall this was a very competitive match, and the Colby Mules were still able to secure some winning games and matches.
