Waterville, Maine - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its Division III All-American Teams this week, and Colby sophomore Gianna Bruno was one of nine NESCAC athletes named to the first or second teams.  She was also one of only five sophomore students to earn a spot on either team. 

A Second Team selection, Bruno is only a few weeks removed from being named to the All-NESCAC First Team.  For the shortened 2021 season (five games), she was the leading scorer for the Mules, tallying 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points. She ranked first in the NESCAC in assists per game and points per game, and ranked sixth in goals per game.  In only 10 career games in her first two years, Bruno has totaled 25 goals and 19 assists, good for 44 points.  

"This is an amazing accomplishment for Gianna, and so well deserved," said head coach Karen Henning.  "She is so competitive and never stopped getting better, even during COVID.  Gianna always rises to any challenge that is given to her and she is determined to help the Colby Women's Lacrosse Team be the best team we can be."
