Box Score Lewiston, Maine- The Mules capped off their season today in a Mother's Day matchup against Bates College. In the season finale, the bats of the Mules took charge against Bates, putting up 20 runs in the nine-inning game.
The Mules started the game with first-year Nicholas Thompson on the mound, pitching 2.0 innings, followed by a strong relief performance by Matthew Scibilio (pictured left). Pitching 4.0 innings and striking out four, Scibilio would earn the win. Pitchers, Cam Garfield, Teddy Durbin, and Julian Erro would pitch in 1.0 innings each to close out the final three innings.
With a 2-1 lead in the second inning, Cabot Maher started off his day on a first-pitch grand-slam, igniting the offense for the rest of the afternoon. The seventh inning was the best offensively, scoring ten runs with Brady O'Brien and Henry Suarez each bringing in two Mules. First-year Noah Reichman hit his first home run of his career to left field in the eighth, bringing the Mules to a 20-2 advantage. Maher led the Mules today with seven RBIs, with O'Brien, Andrew Russell, and Reichman all having two RBIs each.
The Mules end their season 12-10 following this strong offensive performance today.
