Waterville, Maine - Shortly after being named one of the nation's top-5 finalists for the Division III category of the Yeardley Reynolds Love (YRL) Unsung Hero Award, senior
Amelia Lubrano of the Women's Lacrosse team was chosen as the winner. The Yeardley Reynolds Love ("YRL") Unsung Hero Award recognizes the accomplishments of six student-athletes (three males and three females across NCAA's three divisions) who help their teams achieve success in ways that may not be measured in goals, saves or ground balls. This honor places value on kindness and generosity, characteristics that are often undervalued in the competitively charged environment of college lacrosse.
The Award recognizes the athlete who makes a significant contribution to the team while also bringing joy to teammates. The award recipients exhibit leadership as a positive role model and are involved in community service. The recipients are awarded a sum of money from the One Love Foundation to be given to their favorite charity.

"This award is such a great fit for the type of person Amelia is," said head Women's Lacrosse coach
Karen Henning. "While we will certainly miss her on-field contributions, what we will remember most about Amelia is her support and care for others. She has shown up every day with a smile on her face and if one of her teammates didn't have one on theirs, she would be sure to check in and do whatever she could to change that. Her compassion for others is unmatched, and her efforts to organize and help raise funds for COVID relief last spring is a true testament to who she is. We are so proud of all she does for those around her!"
