Brunswick, Maine - Sophomore
Brenna Forbes (headline photo) reached base safely once in the first game and went 3-4 in game 2 to help Colby split with the Polar Bears of Bowdoin College Sunday in Brunswick. The Mules won game one 7-5 and fell in game two 10-15.
While pushing her season average to .455, Forbes collected four hits in the double header, and added 5RBI.

In the first game, Bowdoin jumped out to an early lead, with the Mules keeping it close behind first year pitcher
Payton Crowley. In the top of the 3rd inning, Colby struck for five runs and took the lead for good behind a bases loaded double by
Olivia Menyo '24 (photo left), scoring three runs. The big inning put the Mules ahead 6-2 and eventually guided the Mules to victory. Starting the season hitting .750 after five games, senior captain
Lolo Niemiec warmed back up with three hits in the two-game set against Bowdoin.
"We came together today and played two well-fought games," said head coach
Terren Allen. "Offensively, we set the bar high as we were able to execute and make things happen each inning to produce runs."
In the second game, Bowdoin jumped out to a 12-2 lead, highlighted by a 2nd inning grand slam by shortstop Lilly Armstrong. Colby never gave up, battling for two runs in the 3rd and 4th, and four more runs in the 5th, closing the gap to two runs. The rally was sparked by three hits from Forbes and a
Hannah Masterson '24 double. Sophomore
Jackie Hill added two hits and went 7-13 on the weekend. Bowdoin was able to halt the Mules' charge and add a few runs in the final innings to secure the victory.
Colby is back in action against Bates Saturday April 24 for a double header on Mayflower Hill.
