Medford, Mass. - The Mules traveled to Medford to play the Jumbos to start off a weekend of sunshine and warm temps. The Mules put up a good fight but ended up losing to the Jumbos 29-11.

With quick and even play in the first quarter the Mules came back from a 2-0 deficit to score five goals with no return from Tufts. The Jumbos were able to score two goals in the last one and a half minutes of the first quarter. The Mules had a strong showing of five different goal scorers and five different assists, a testament to the team play that the Mules are capable of. In the second quarter the Jumbos seven unanswered goals until Colby scored two in a row to make the score 12-8. With only two more goals scored in the half the Mules ended the half down by four goals, 13-8, well within reach of coming back to win. First half stats were pretty even between the Jumbos and the Mules. The Mules had a slight edge in ground balls, were dead even in face offs, and trailing only by two shots. Where the Mules suffered was clearing the ball from their defensive zone and turnovers. The Mules had a 44% success rate on clears compared to the Jumbos' 74% success rate. Additionally, Colby had 15 turnovers to Tufts' seven.
In the second half Tufts scored 11 unanswered goals and in the third quarter they unleashed 25 shots to Colby's nine and dominated in ground balls 17-8. Colby struggled still in the second half with their clears, only successful on 53% of them.
