The Mules came out and scored in the first period at 7:13 with a goal from Meg Rittenhouse (11) and assisted by Mattie Tremper (7) and Emily Van der Veen (25).  Two minutes later USM tied the game up with a goal.  Scoring held for the rest of the period until Rittenhouse scored again 8:59 into the second period unassisted.  Scoring didn't resume until the third period where USM scored two goals to Colby's one.  Lexi Cafiero (14) scored for the Mules at 14:52, assisted by Rittenhouse, to tie the game up and send the game into overtime.  Only twenty seconds into the overtime period Rittenhouse scored her third goal of the game, assisted by Cafiero, making for a sudden victory for the Mules.

In talking to both Coach Holley Tyng and player Rittenhouse following the game, their sentiments were very similar.  Each expressed joy and gratitude for being able to play in the Jack Kelley Rink amidst a global pandemic.  Coach Tyng said, "First, the team and I just want to thank the administration for the opportunity to play a couple games this spring. We've been through a lot together this year, especially our seniors, and it means a lot to us to be able to compete together. I'm so proud of the effort playing in our first game in the new facility. It was so special. To end on a high note with the win in OT will certainly carry us forward to whenever our next opportunity arises!"  This quote captures the energy from the Mules, excitement to play and gratitude for the opportunity to do so.  Rittenhouse said something similar through her apology for being so tired after the game.  "It was amazing to get the opportunity to play all together on home ice today," said Rittenhouse. "Just being able to compete and get the first win in the Jack Kelley rink with this very special team will be unforgettable. I'm excited for what will come next!"  Despite being faced with complications due to COVID the Mules made the best of it and came out with a sweet overtime vistory against the Huskies.  We are all excited to see what they bring the next time they take the ice.
