Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Mules Lose In One Point Game

Waltham, MASS. - Colby Men's Basketball continued their season with a heartbreaking loss to Brandeis University, falling 69-68.  The Mules fall to 6-4 thanks to the defeat, while Brandeis University improves to 7-2.

Colby was barely outscored in the first half, entering the intermission down one, 29-30. From halftime on, Brandeis and The Mules went blow for blow, as each team scored 39 points in the second half. Colby was also able to put together 31 rebounds, 12 assists, two blocks, and five steals in regulation. Even with a tough defeat like this one, Men's Basketball still has a lot to be happy about. First, their opponent in this battle was very legitimate and they were still able to keep the game very close, only losing by one to a team that is now 7-2. Second, the Mules shot the ball, cashing in on 46.6% of their shots, and 61.5% of their three point attempts. And, finally they had several stand out individual performances.

Will King had yet another strong performance, posting 17 points, five rebounds, and six assists on 50% shooting. David Basich had one of the most efficient games of the season, with 15 points, two rebounds, and one steal on 6/9 shooting from the field, and 3/3 from three point while only playing 22 minutes. Noah Tyson and Jack Lawson were also in double figures, both posting 10 points. Tyson also had four rebounds and a block, while Lawson had three rebounds and two assists.

Colby will hope to improve in their next game when they travel to Salem, MA to face the Salem State University Vikings on Wednesday, December 29th, at 4:00 PM.
