Biddeford, Maine - Colby Women's Basketball faced the Nazareth College Golden Flyers today in the second round of the UNE Tip Off Tournament. Despite trailing early in the game, the Mules came back to defeat the Golden Flyers with a final score of 59-53. 

The Mules opened the game with a three-pointer by Carter McGloon '24 in the 21st second, followed by a jumper by McGloon and a layup by Keagan Dunbar '22 which brought the score to 7-0 in the first minute and a half. The Golden Flyers were able to come back to tie the game up soon after, eventually propelling forward and ending the first quarter with a score of 14-19. The second quarter took a slower pace, with only three points scored in the first four minutes. Adaobi Nebuwa '22 led the way to reclaim the lead for the Mules, scoring 7 points in the quarter and entering the second half with a total score of 26-23. 

The second half opened up with a faster pace, with another early three-pointer by Carly Christofori '22 in the 13th second. The Mules maintained their lead throughout the quarter, propelled by an additional 12 points scored by Christofori. The final quarter once again took a slower pace. Despite the Golden Flyers narrowly catching up to the Mules' lead mid-quarter, the Mules propelled itself forward in the final minutes to secure a 6-point lead. 

The game ended with a final score of 59-53. Christofori and Caroline Smith '24 paved the way to the victory, scoring 13 points each for the Mules. 

Colby Women's Basketball is next set to travel to Bangor to face Husson University on Tuesday, November 16 at 7 PM.
