Mules lone goal not enough, fall to Tufts 3-1

MALDEN, Mass.- The Colby College Men's Ice Hockey team battled on the road against Tufts University. The Jumbos took the victory 3-1.

GAME NOTES: Colby now falls to 7-13-3 overall (3-12-2 NESCAC).

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES:

  • J.P. Schuhlen (headline photo) netted the tying goal at 16:12 of the first period. Carter Breitenfeldt assisted on the score.
  • Andrew Tucci stopped 25 shots in goal.
  • Paddy Daley, Jalen Kaplan (photo inset) and Michael Morrissey led the team with 4 shots.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE JUMBOS:

  • Nick Schultze scored at 1:56 of the first period. Justin Brandt with the assist.
  • Anthony Farinacci regained the lead in the second period with an unassisted goal. Time of goal 9:14.
  • Mason Babbidge sealed the win at 10:36 in the final frame.

KEY STATS:

  • Colby took control of the faceoffs 32-24.
  • Mules also finished with 33 shots.
  • Both power play teams finished 0 for 2.

NEXT MATCHUP: The Mules look to wrap up the regular season with a 3:00pm game against Connecticut College.
