Box Score Waterville, ME – The Colby College Women's Basketball come out with a 60-56 victory over the Husson University Eagles in their last home game of the year.
GAME NOTES
- Husson was able to jump out to an 8-2 lead with 3:13 left to play in the first but Colby was able to bring the deficit to only one point by the end of the quarter. The Mules would use that momentum to outscore the Eagles 14-7 in the second quarter to take a 25-19 lead going into halftime. Colby wouldn't give up the lead the rest of the way and were able to hold off the Eagles late surge on their way to a 60-56 victory.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES
Ainsley Burns (photo insert) had 19 points for Colby shooting 7-14 from the field. Burns scored her 1000th career point for the Colby Mules midway through the third quarter.
- Alisha Aube led all scorers with 20 points. She went 6-16 from the field and 4-9 from beyond the arc.
- Carly Christofori pitched in with eight points and eight rebounds. Grace Coutu also pulled down eight rebounds on the night.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE EAGLES
- Bailey Donovan led the way for Husson with a double-double scoring 19 points and adding 11rebounds. She finished going 6-10 from the field.
- Sydney Allen did her part pitching in 18 points going 6-16 from the field. Emma Alley and Megan Peach each had five points for the Eagles.
KEY STATS
- Colby finished shooting 42.3% from three point range.
- There were three ties and two lead changes with Colby's largest lead of night being 11 points.
- The Mules outrebounded the Eagles 36-29.
