Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - Colby College's Men's Ice Hockey team took the sweep against Bowdoin College, beating the Polar Bears, 4-1.
GAME NOTES: With the win, the Mules move to 7-9-2 overall (3-8-1 NESCAC). Seven players for Colby tallied a point on the night. Andrew Tucci played an excellent game in net for the Mules stopping 34 of 35 shots. His save percentage on the season sits at .911 (.912 career)..
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES:
- Logan Clarke (headline photo) netted his first goal of the night at 8:36 of the opening period. J.P. Schuhlen and Spencer Hewson assisted on the goal.
- Clarke then found the net again in the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Mark Leprine and Hewson set up the play at 11:35.
- Just over two minutes later, Michael Morrissey (photo inset) scored his first of the night unassisted at the 13:38 mark.
- Early in the final frame Morrissey scored a power play goal, 4:40 into the period. Kienan Scott and Carter Breitenfeldt assisted on the man advantage to make it a 4-0 game.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE POLAR BEARS:
- Thomas Dunleavy ended the shutout at the 12:00 mark in the third period. Caleb Perez and Bobby Pearl dished the puck on the play.
- In goal Alex Zafonte finished with 25 saves.
KEY STATS:
- With a two goal performance Clarke now sits on the season with four goals and five assists.
- Morrissey with his two goals moves to six goals and three assists.
- Leprine leads the team with 12 points on the season (1 goal, 11 assists). The senior defenseman now has 31 points in his career.
- Bowdoin took the shots on goal category, 35-29. Both teams finished even in faceoff wins with 35.
