Prunster earns another shutout, Mules beat Bantams 1-0

WATERVILLE, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team took another NESCAC win, defeating Trinity College 1-0. The team's record now moves to 6-2-2 in conference play (11-4-3 overall).

GAME NOTES: In goal for the Mules, Nina Prunster (headline photo) earned her second shutout of the season behind 26 saves. Her record now stands at 5-2-1 overall and has a save percentage of .943.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES:

  • Moira Mullaney (photo inset) scored the game winner at 1:19 of the final frame. Bri Michaud-Nolan and Tate Senden with the assist.
  • The team finished in control of shots on goal, 30-26.
  • Faceoffs again were part of Colby's success ending with the majority, 42-27.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE BANTAMS:

  • Stephanie Garvis tallied 29 saves on the night.
  • Sierra Lee and Cassidy McNeely led the team with 4 shots each.

KEY STATS:

  • Mullaney now has two goals and two assists on the season. The captain registered her tenth goal of her career on the hill.
  • First year Senden earned her first point in her debut weekend for the Mules.
  • Both teams spent quite some time in the penalty box. Neither team could capitalize on the skater advantage. Trinity went 0 for 6, Colby 0 for 9.

NEXT MATCHUP: The Mules will host Hamilton College for their last two home games of the regular season. Friday's game (2/7) is scheduled for 7:00pm.
