Box Score Waterville, ME – The Colby College Women's Basketball team can't erase early deficit as they fall to the Tufts College Jumbos 58-36.
GAME NOTES
- Colby and Tufts came out with strong defense to start the game with the first quarter ending at 5-2 in favor of the Jumbos. In the second quarter both teams were able to gain some traction on offensive with Tufts taking a 24-12 lead at half. The Jumbos were able to hold onto the lead in the second half and take a 58-36 win on the road.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES
Colby got a strong offensive performance out of Jane MacKerron (photo insert) who ended with 10 points. MacKerron also had seven rebounds. She went 4-5 from the field.
- Carly Christofori and Brooke Guiffre both played big roles off the bench for the Mules. Christofori had seven points and five rebounds while Guiffre ended with five points. Guiffre went 2-3 from the field.
- Paige Russell added five points and seven rebounds.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE JUMBOS
- Tufts had two player scoring in double figures as Molly Ryan and Emily Briggs each had 14 points to lead the way.
- Tufts is currently #1 in the NESCAC and #1 nationally according to D3Hoops.com. They sit at 20-0 overall and 6-0 in conference.
KEY STATS
- Colby shot 72.7% from the free throw line going 8-11.
- Guiffre is currently fifth in the conference in both field goal percentage (48.4%) and three point percentage (41.2%).

- Colby will head out on the road for back to back games next weekend when they take on Hamilton College Friday February, 7 at 7:00 and Amherst College on Saturday February, 8 at 3:00.
