Mules go 1-1 on the weekend slate after home loss to Williams

Waterville, ME – The Colby College Women's Basketball team goes 1-1 on the weekend after an 80-48 loss to the Williams College Ephs.

GAME NOTES

  • The Ephs pushed the pace in the first two quarters and were able to keep the Mules at a distance for much of it. The Ephs hit 52.8% of their field goals in the first half taking a 47-31 lead into halftime. Colby was unable to mount a comeback as Williams would come away with the win 80-48.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES

  • Ainsley Burns and Jane MacKerron (photo insert) each finished in double figures for the Mules. Burns had 12 points and five rebounds on the afternoon while MacKerron had 10 points and six rebounds.
  • Keagan Dunbar added five points and Grace Coutu dropped six.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE EPHS

  • Williams had four players score in double figures with Mikaela Topper leading all scorers with 18 points. Morgan Dauk pitched in with 14 points, Maggie Meehan had 11, and Maddy Mandyck finished with 10.
  • The Ephs went 9-11 from the free throw line and 31-69 from the field.

  • Colby is averaging 39.3 rebounds per game and 63.1 points per game.
  • The Mules are 3-2 at home on the year.

NEXT MATCHUP

  • The Mules will continue their home stand when the University of Maine at Farmington Beavers come to town on Wednesday, January 25. Game is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
