Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Conn.- The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team battled in third period and ended with a tie against Wesleyan University 2-2.
GAME NOTES: The Mules move to 7-1-2 overall.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES:
- McKinley Karpa scored her fifth goal of the season at 10:30 of the first period. Lexi Cafiero (photo inset) tallied her first assist of the night on the play.
- Down 2-1 entering the third period, Tess Dupre tied the game 35 seconds into the period. Cafiero received her second point of the night on the play.
- Nina Prunster finished with 12 saves.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE CARDINALS:
- Ally Detre gave the Cardinals the lead at 5:21 in the first period. Bridget Cornell and Maggie Curran with the assists.
- Halfway through the second period Wesleyan regained the lead with a Caroline Jenkins goal at 10:46. Audrey McMahon and Cali Stevens with the assists on the play.
- Allegra Grant finished with 35 saves on the night.
- Wesleyan won the faceoff matchup 42-25.
KEY STATS:
- Colby finished with 37 shots.
- The Mules penalty kill held the Cardinals 0 for 5 on the power play.
- Colby could not score with the man advantage failing on their single power play attempt.
