Box Score Hartford, CT – The Colby College Women's Basketball team ended their weekend road trip with a 56-45 loss at The Trinity College Bantams.
GAME NOTES
- The Bantams outscored the Mules 26-13 in the first half with the help of a 41.7% shooting percentage from the field. Colby came out in the second half looking to pull off the comeback but came up just short. Colby outscored Trinity 32-29 in the second half but in the end the Bantams came away with the 56-45 victory.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES
- Ainsley Burns and Brooke Guiffre each scored in double figures for the Mules. Burns dropped 16 points on the night while Guiffre added 12.
Grace Coutu hit double figures in rebounds with 10. She also had five points.
- Carly Christofori finished with seven points and five assists off the bench and Paige Russell added five off the bench.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE BANTAMS
- Peace Kabari and Bailey Hyland both had a double-double on the night with 16 points and 11 rebounds each. Kabari went 6-8 from the field while Hyland went 6-14.
- Elizabeth Althoff and Katie Kirsch each did their part with seven and six points respectively.
KEY STATS
- Colby's went 50% from the free throw line and as a team they had 38 rebounds.
- Once again the Mules outscored the opposing team's bench. Colby's bench ended with 12 points while Trinity had 9.
NEXT MATHUP
- Colby will continue conference play next weekend with a couple of home games. Friday January 17 will be against Middlebury College at 7:00 PM and Saturday January 18 the Mules take on Williams College at 3:00 PM.
