Back From Trip to Midwest, Volleyball Falls to UNE

Box Score

Waterville, Maine - The Mule Volleyball team returned from their trip to the College of Wooster and the Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic tournament and fell in three sets to the University of New England 3-1.

To start the night, the two teams played close and even, as they took the first set to extra points.  Down to game point, Colby rallied from behind to take the first set 26-24.  Falling in the next two sets, Colby once again fought back to make it tough for the Nor'easters.  UNE opened up a large lead in the fourth set, but Colby refused to make it easy.  At one point down 8-1 and 18-9, Colby linked serves and kills together to bring it to 23-21 before eventually falling.

First year Morgan Selby (pictured)) led the team again in assists with 31.  Nicole Petherbridge (14), Elizabeth Middlebrook (10) and Natalie Simonton (8) led the team in kills.  Middlebrook (22), Blair Sullivan (12) and Selby all reached double digits in digs.

The Mules next play Friday night when they host the Panthers of Middlebury College.
