Box Score BEVERLY, Mass.- The Colby College Men's Ice Hockey team celebrated the new year with a victory over the Endicott College Gulls, 3-1.
GAME NOTES: Colby with the victory now takes the all time series record between both teams 2-0.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES:
- Jacob Thousand scored his second goal of the season at 3:22 in the first period. Billy Overby and Brendan Murphy assisted on the play.
- The Mules increased their lead with a power play goal scored by Alex Bourhas (headline photo) at 8:39 in the second frame. Mark Leprine tallied his first point of the night with the assist. Quinn Doyle collected his third assist on the play.
- Robert Cerepak (photo inset) scored his first goal of the season to seal the victory for Colby at the 9:03 mark in the third period. Leprine, this time with Michael Thomas helped set up the goal.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE GULLS:
- Endicott looked to rally in the third period following a goal scored by Mitch Shaheen, Eric Johansson and Bump Lisk helped bring the puck into the zone.
- Conor O'Brien finished with 21 saves for the Gulls.
KEY STATS:
- Andy Beran moves to 2-0-0 in his first year. He finished with 30 saves, moving his save percentage to .970 on the season.
- With the victory the Mules move to 4-5-0 on the season.
- Both teams had their chances on the power play, With the man advantage the Mules finished 1 for 5, Endicott finished 0 for 2.

"The guys played very well in all three zones and we had excellent goaltending from first year Beran making only his second start. JP Schulen had a great game and six big blocked shots. Goals from first years Thousand, Bourhas and senior captian Cerepak, very nice way for the guys to end the 2019 portion of our season."
NEXT MATCHUP: Colby now waits for Amherst College to make the trip up to the Alfond Rink on January 10th. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
