Playing tight down the stretch, Mules fall to Mariners

Castine, Maine - The Colby College Women's Basketball team made a second half run to bring the score to within one, but Maine Maritime Academy held on for the in-state victory 67-62.  

Falling behind at the half 36-27, the Mules turned it around in the third quarter outscoring MMA 15-8 to claw their way back into the game.  The fourth quarter saw constant pressure and aggressive play from both sides, with Colby bringing the score to within one at 61-60, but the Mariners held off the charge with their fanbase voicing its approval.  

Junior Alisha Aube (photo inset) scored a season high 20 points including 6-6 from the free throw line while adding six rebounds.  Senior Ainsley Burns added 18 points with five boards, and first-year Brooke Guiffre once again provided a spark off the bench tallying double-digit points with 10.  

The Mules are back in action this coming Saturday when they host MIT at 1:00pm.
