Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team had another thrilling victory against Williams College at Alfond Rink, sending the Ephs home with another one goal loss 4-3.
Game Notes:
- "This team has a ton of character and a ton of grit, and I think we showed that by battling back in both games and having some resilience to come from behind and hold on for the win," said head coach Holley Tyng.
Highlights for the Mules:
- Tess Dupre (two goals) scored Colby's first goal unassisted at 1:07 in the second period.
- Moira Mulaney gave Colby their first lead at 2:31 in the second period with a shot in traffic.
- As time was winding down, McKinley Karpa took the rush and tied the game at 3-3 with eleven seconds remaining in the second frame.
- Dupre (photo inset) yet again was able to rifle one in, fifty-eight seconds into the third.
- Cierra San Roman collected her first win of the season in goal, finishing the game with 21 saves and 1 assist.
Highlights for the Ephs:
- Williams struck first early in the first period. With their first power play of the game, Delaney Szlezyngier took the puck and sent it home at 5:39.
- The Ephs converted two more power play goals scored by Meghan Halloran and Szlezyngier.
- Heiting finished with 30 saves on the afternoon.
Key Stats:
- Both teams served 10 minutes of in penalties, with 5 infractions each.
- Colby led Williams in shots, 34-24.
- Williams was lethal on the power play, going 3-5.
- All four goals against Colby this year have come on the power play.
Next Matchup:
- The Mules will face Bowdoin twice next weekend. The two play first in Brunswick Friday night at 7:00 PM and then return to Alfond Rink Saturday for the final Colby-Bowdoin Women's Ice Hockey match in the Harold Alfond Athletic Center Saturday at 3:00 PM.
