Women's soccer earns non-conference win over Husson, 5-0

BANGOR, Maine -- Olivia Greif scored two goals and Sarah Lofstrom added a goal and an assist for the Colby College women's soccer team in a 5-0 win at Husson University on Wednesday.
 
The Mules are 2-1 overall heading into Saturday's 11 a.m. game at top-ranked Williams College. 
 
Colby dominated the game with a 27-3 shot advantage and a 6-1 margin in corner kicks, but Husson kept the game scoreless for more than 24 minutes.
 
Katherine Gillespie, a senior co-captain, scored the first goal at 24:21 to spark the Mules. Greif had her first of the game on a nice passing sequence by Colby from midfield. Lofstrom pushed a pass to the right to Greif, who ripped a shot into the upper right corner of the net.
 
The Mules took a 2-0 lead at halftime, but Greif put the game away just 1:28 into the second half off a pass from Mary Farnkoff (pictured). Greif has three goals and one assist in the first three games. 
 
Hannah Brozdowski made it 4-0 from Juliette Nadeau with 22:58 to play in regulation. Nadeau is off to a fast start with two goals and two assists.
 
Lofstrom, who missed nearly all of last season due to injury, scored her second collegiate goal with 15:26 remaining off a dish from Elizabeth Barry.
 
Dani Lonati played the first half and did not make a save. She shared the shutout with teammate Shannon Gray, who had one save in the second half.
