FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Colby College baseball team was an unlucky victim of scheduling on Thursday in a 4-0 loss to eighth-ranked College of Wooster at Terry Park.
The Mules drop to 3-5 overall and will play their final two games of the Florida trip Friday in a doubleheader against Plymouth State starting at 10 a.m.
Colby had the bad scheduling break by having to face Fighting Scots' ace pitcher Michael Houdek. He pitched a four-hit shutout, struck out 10, and walked one for Wooster (9-1).
Arsenault had a double for the Mules, who had singles from Matt Treveloni, Andrew Della Volpe, and Keenan Iuliano. Della Volpe is second on Colby in batting average at .429, Iuliano is third with a .385 mark, and Arsenault is fourth at .367. Treveloni is having a fine spring trip with a .346 average.
Wooster center fielder Jake Fling had four hits, including a two-run single when the Fighting Scots scored four in the third inning. Michael Wielansky added an RBI triple and Fling ended up scoring on a wild pitch.
