Gray stops 10 shots for women's soccer in setback

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Despite 10 saves from goalkeeper Shannon Gray, the Colby College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Amherst College on Saturday.

Game highlights
* Gray had seven of her saves in the second half to keep the Mules in the game. 
 
* Gray made a diving tip save on a shot by Natalie Landau with 1:15 left in the opening half. However, just 30 seconds later Amherst scored its lone goal when a ball bounced away from Gray. The Mammoths' Erin McClave had a high ball off a back kick that took a tricky bounce. Landau got the loose ball near the right end line and centered it to Mia Bongiorno for the goal.
 
By the numbers
* The Mammoths had an 18-8 advantage in shots and a 9-6 corner kick margin. 
 
* Olivia Greif had three of the Mules' eight shots.

* Colby is back in action Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Bowdoin College.
