WATERVILLE, Maine -- Lily Wain (pictured) and Elise O'Brien both won matches for the 25th-ranked Colby College women's squash team in a 7-2 loss to 16th-ranked Bates College at the Dunaway Courts on Wednesday night.
Wain improved to 13-5 this season with a 3-2 win at the eighth position. She fell behind two sets to one, but allowed just eight points in the final two sets to pull out the victory.
O'Brien, now 6-3 this season, had a straight set win at the ninth position.
The Mules gave the Bobcats a competitive match. Colby lost two matches in five sets and another in four.
Colby will play host to Wellesley College on Saturday at 11 a.m.
