Men's squash wins key match

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The 24th-ranked Colby College men's squash team should move up in the national rankings for the second week in a row after taking a 6-3 win over 23rd-ranked Wesleyan University on Saturday.

The Mules notched a home win over Hobart College on Friday night and then took the trip to Middletown to play three matches. Colby will take on eighth-ranked St. Lawrence University on Sunday at 10 a.m. and then face 29th-ranked Connecticut College at 2 p.m.
 

The Mules, who went into last weekend ranked 26th, received a big 3-2 win from Matt Epstein (pictured) at the seventh position. After falling in the fourth set, Epstein earned a clutch 15-13 win in the fifth set.

Will McBrian won 3-0 at the first position, while first-years Jason Brodo (sixth) and Sam Hitt (eighth) also earned straight set wins. Elliot Gross won 3-1 at the third position and Andrew Swapp won by the same score at nine.
