Women's soccer drops final game of the season

LEWISTON, Maine — Colby College's Katherine Gillespie (Arundel, Maine) scored the first goal of the game, but Bates College tied the game before halftime and had the lone goal of the second half in a 2-1 NESCAC women's soccer victory Tuesday.

The Mules closed the season at 4-10-1 overall and 0-9-1 in the conference. Bates moved to 7-5-3 and 4-3-3.
Gillespie scored her third goal of the year at 18:01.
The Bobcats got the important tying goal before halftime when Julia Rosen tallied at 37:42.
Bates went ahead for good on Karen Lockhart's third goal of the year at 72:09 from Leah Humes.
Ally Ingraham had five shots on goal for the Mules. Catherine Fraser added three shots and Aliza Van Leesten had two.
Colby seniors Emma Marjollet, Lauren McCarthy, and Hannah Twombly all played their final game.
