Waterville, Maine- The #7 preseason ranked Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team is set to kick off the 2023/2024 season Tuesday evening against the University of Southern Maine Huskies. The Mules start have an eight game win streak against the Huskies including a 7-2 win to begin the 2022/2023 season.
In the 2022/2023 season, Colby Women's Ice Hockey had a record number of 18 wins and Colby went to the NCAA DIIII Championship, achieving their first ever win in an NCAA tournament. With the graduation of seven seniors and three new freshman, the Mules see 24 returning player including captain
Meg Rittenhouse. Senior
Meg Rittenhouse earned All-American honors in the 2022/2023 season as well as being #1 in points, points per game, face-off wins, and power play goals in the NESCAC. Sophomore
Grace Caligiuri and juniors
Mandy Busky and
Paige Bolyard return as goalkeepers. In the previous season, Bolyard competed in 15 matches with 290 saves and a career high of 31 saves. Caligiuri, Busky, and Bolyard ended the season with a combined number of 557 saves.Â
The season officially begins on Tuesday, November 21st, at 7:00pm at the Jack Kelley Rink at the O'Neil O'Donnell Forum.
